Spontaneous public participation shows that we are ultimately victorious as a nation, says EC Sanaullah

Election Commissioner Brig Gen Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah (Retd) today said the spontaneous and overwhelming participation of voters in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election has demonstrated that “we are ultimately victorious as a nation.”

He made the statement while announcing the final official results at 11:00am at the Election Building in Agargaon, Dhaka.

Thanking all stakeholders, he said the Commission had only one pledge to the nation—to conduct a free and neutral election—and that it had made every effort to uphold that commitment. He expressed deep appreciation to the citizens for their enthusiastic participation in what he described as a large and complex electoral exercise, adding that such engagement reaffirmed the nation’s strength.

He noted that the Election Commission treated the election not merely as a duty, but as a sacred responsibility. Addressing earlier concerns surrounding the polls, he said the high voter turnout had dispelled fears and negative predictions.

Expressing hope for the future, he added, “May Bangladesh’s democracy continue on its rightful path, and may this election set a benchmark for even stronger electoral processes in the years ahead.”

Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat, Akhtar Ahmed, along with other Election Commission officials, was present at the briefing.
