Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has sent a special written message to the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aimed at strengthening the long-standing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The message was formally delivered during a high-level meeting in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. The Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Humayun Kabir, handed over the letter on his behalf during a meeting with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The development was confirmed by the UAE’s state-run Emirates News Agency.

In his message, Tarique Rahman highlighted key areas of mutual interest, including preserving the historic ties between the two nations, expanding trade and investment, and enhancing cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals. During the meeting, Humayun Kabir also reaffirmed Bangladesh’s strong support for the UAE’s security and stability.

In response, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed appreciation for Bangladesh’s continued friendship and solidarity. Referring to Bangladesh as a “close friendly nation,” he stressed the importance of sustained constructive cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries.

The meeting was also attended by UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Saeed Al Hajeri, and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the UAE Tarek Ahmed, along with other senior officials.
