Iran clears passage for six Bangladeshi ships
Iran has authorized six Bangladesh-flagged vessels stranded in the Strait of Hormuz to proceed.
Iran’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, announced the development at a press briefing at the Iranian Embassy on Wednesday.
“We informed Tehran about the six vessels, and Iran’s National Security Council has approved assistance for them. However, we were initially unable to identify the ships due to a lack of detailed specifications,” he said.
The ambassador noted that Iran had earlier requested detailed information from the Bangladesh government, which was provided last week.
He added that the process is now underway and there are no obstacles to the movement of Bangladeshi vessels.
“We will provide full cooperation in this matter,” he said.
