Bangladesh cricket calendar 2026: Key events to watch

Bangladesh’s international cricket calendar for 2026 promises to be a demanding and high-profile one, featuring a mix of crucial bilateral series and major multinational tournaments.

After a mixed 2025 that saw flashes of individual brilliance alongside inconsistent results, the national side is preparing for an intense year of competition on the global stage.

In 2026, Bangladesh are scheduled to play 10 Tests, 23 ODIs and 12 T20 Internationals. They will also contest four T20 matches in the ICC T20 World Cup, with the possibility of playing more should they progress to the knockout rounds.

The year begins with the ICC T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February–March. Following the World Cup, Bangladesh will host Pakistan for a full bilateral series in March–April, comprising two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is.

New Zealand will then tour Bangladesh in April for three ODIs and three T20Is. After a short break in May, Australia will visit Bangladesh in June for three ODIs and three T20Is.

One of the highlights of the year comes in August, when Bangladesh tour Australia for two Tests. This will mark their first Test series in Australia in 24 years, following their only previous Test tour there in 2003. Bangladesh last played a bilateral series against Australia in 2008, a three-match ODI series.

Before the Australia tour, Bangladesh will travel to Zimbabwe in July for two Tests and five ODIs, followed by a white-ball tour of Ireland in August featuring three ODIs and three T20Is. After returning from Australia, Bangladesh will host India and West Indies for separate home series, before concluding the year with a full tour of South Africa.

The Bangladesh Women’s team will also face a busy 2026, with three ODI series and five T20I series scheduled, alongside participation in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers and the main tournament.

The women’s side will host Sri Lanka and tour Australia and New Zealand as part of their bilateral commitments.
