The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has suspended all trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

The move comes amid growing regional tensions and follows reports concerning the status of the UAE’s economic ties with Iran.

UAE Rejects Claims Over Economic Relations

Afra Al Hameli, Director of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Strategic Communications Department, dismissed allegations regarding the current state of economic relations between the UAE and Iran.

She reiterated the UAE’s commitment to dialogue, cooperation and regional integration as key pillars for advancing peace, stability and prosperity across the region.

Transactions Suspended Amid Rising Tensions

Al Hameli said the suspension was introduced in response to regional developments that pose threats to regional and international peace and security.

The restrictions on trade, commercial dealings and financial transactions will remain in effect until further notice.

UAE Reaffirms Commitment to Financial Stability

Al Hameli stressed that the UAE remains committed to protecting the integrity of the international financial system and adhering to international law and globally recognized standards.

The ministry also reaffirmed that the UAE would continue supporting efforts aimed at safeguarding regional and international financial stability.
