A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight remains stranded at Muscat International Airport after a passenger died on board, with the aircraft awaiting clearance from the Royal Oman Police to remove the body.

The onward journey of flight BG-136 remains uncertain until the required procedures are completed, leaving other passengers facing delays and inconvenience.

According to Biman sources, the flight was diverted to Muscat on Wednesday after a passenger experienced a medical emergency and his condition worsened during the journey. The aircraft made an emergency landing in Muscat, but the passenger subsequently died.

Following the landing, preparations were made to take the body off the aircraft. However, Omani regulations require approval from the Royal Oman Police before the remains of a deceased passenger can be removed.

As the necessary clearance has yet to be granted, the body remains inside the aircraft.

Biman officials said they have contacted the Royal Oman Police to obtain permission for the removal. Once approval is received, the required formalities will be completed and the body will be taken off the plane.

The airline will decide on the flight's onward journey after the process is completed.

Flight BG-136 was scheduled to leave Jeddah at 11am on Wednesday and travel via Chattogram to Dhaka.
