Government revokes the licences of 49 recruiting agencies over alleged irregularities
Several of the agencies are also facing criminal charges under various provisions of the Penal Code, 1860.
The government has revoked the licences of 49 manpower recruiting agencies over alleged irregularities and violations of laws governing overseas employment.
The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment issued a circular on Sunday announcing that the decision would take immediate effect.
According to the notification, the agencies were found to have breached the terms and conditions of their licences, as well as provisions of the Overseas Employment and Migrants Act, 2013, the Overseas Employment and Migrants (Amendment) Act, 2023, and other relevant laws.
Several of the agencies are also facing criminal charges under various provisions of the Penal Code, 1860, with charge sheets already submitted to the courts. The ministry said the licences were cancelled under Section 13 of the Overseas Employment and Migrants Act, 2013, following a review of the allegations.
The agencies whose licences were revoked are Unique Eastern (Pvt) Ltd, Orbitals Enterprise, Shaheen Travels, Irving Enterprise, Haidari Trade International, Rabbi International, Zahrat Associates, Four Sight International Ltd, Binimoy International, Akash Bhramon Ltd, QK Quick Express Ltd, United Export Ltd, GMG Trading (Pvt) Ltd, Sadia International, The Super Eastern Ltd, Elegants Overseas Ltd, Catharsis International, Midway Overseas Ltd, Madina Overseas, Al-Khamis International, New Age International, Dahmashi Corporation Ltd, Galaxy Corporation, Sultan Overseas, Probhati International, Manispower Corporation, Amin Tours and Travels, Ahmed International, ISMT Human Resource Development Ltd, Darbar Global Overseas, Natasha Overseas, Aparajita Overseas, Five M International Ltd, Stanford Employment Pvt Ltd, Jannat Overseas, BM Travels Ltd, BNS Overseas Ltd, Rubel Bangladesh Ltd, Orbitals International, Trans Asia Integrated Services Ltd, Al Farah Human Resources and Consultancy, Snigdha Overseas Ltd., Brothers International, Thanex International Ltd, GG Al Falah Management, Imperial Resources Ltd, PR Overseas Ltd, MEF Global Bangladesh Ltd, and Anannya Apurba Recruiting Agency.
