The price of gold has been lowered in the domestic market, with the cost of 22-carat gold dropping by Tk 1,038 per bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk 150,862.  

This update was announced in a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, Chairman of the Price Determination and Monitoring Committee of the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS), on Saturday (8 March).  

The revised prices will take effect from Sunday (9 March). As per the new rates, 21-carat gold will cost Tk 144,004 per bhori, 18-carat gold Tk 123,428 per bhori, and traditional gold Tk 101,641 per bhori.  

Despite the decline in gold prices, silver prices remain unchanged. The price of 22-carat silver stands at Tk 2,578 per bhori. Gold prices were previously reduced on 23 February, 27 February, and 1 March, but an increase was announced on 5 March.  

This marks the 13th price adjustment of gold in the domestic market this year, with prices increasing 9 times and decreasing only 4 times.
