Former DGFI director Afzal Naser has been arrested

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested former DGFI Director General Md Afzal Naser, who is believed to have been linked to the 1/11 government.

He was detained early Monday (30 March) from a residence at House No. 864, Road No. 12 in Mirpur DOHS in the capital.

DB Joint Commissioner Nasirul Islam confirmed the arrest, though no official statement has yet been issued بشأن the case under which he has been held. Earlier, the DB also arrested two prominent figures associated with the 1/11 government—controversial former army officers Lieutenant General (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury and Lieutenant General (retd) Sheikh Mamun Khaled—who are currently on remand.
