Aynaghars to Be Documented Internationally: Adviser Asif
Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, an adviser to the interim government, stated that the Aynaghars will be documented on an international level to expose the Awami League as a fascist force and an enemy of the people.
According to Asif, who serves as the sports adviser, the atrocities committed under the defeated Awami League government during the July-August mass uprising have already gained international recognition.
Likewise, he emphasized that the Aynaghars will also be acknowledged globally to ensure that the fascist force is held accountable as an enemy of the people. He made these remarks while speaking at an event at Dhaka University on Thursday.
"The entire world has witnessed the Aynaghars—secret torture cells operated by the ousted Awami League government—yet the fascist force continues to shamelessly deny responsibility," he asserted.
Highlighting the role of the youth in the ongoing movement, he stressed that Bangladesh will not stray from its path as long as young people remain vigilant.
A day earlier, on Wednesday, Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus accused the defeated autocratic Awami League regime of ushering in an era of ignorance (Jahiliya) to suppress dissenting voices.
The chief adviser made this statement after visiting three Aynaghar sites in Dhaka, which were previously used as secret torture cells and prisons.
Additionally, at a press conference, Shafiqul Alam, the chief adviser's press secretary, revealed that there are between 700 and 800 Aynaghars across the country, all of which will be uncovered.
