Airfare for 2027 Hajj pilgrims reduced by Tk24,830, says Religious Affairs Minister

The government has reduced airfare for Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims by Tk24,830 for the 2027 Hajj season, bringing it down to Tk130,000, Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain Kaikobad announced on Tuesday.

The announcement was made at a press briefing at the Secretariat, where the minister unveiled the government’s Hajj packages for 2027.

According to the minister, the government has approved two Hajj packages under the official management system for the upcoming pilgrimage. The minimum cost of the first package has been set at Tk505,648, while the second package will cost Tk615,263.

The minister said the reduction in airfare compared with last year’s Hajj package would help ease the financial burden on intending pilgrims. He also called for retaining the existing 1 per cent provision for backup accommodation to ensure smoother accommodation management during the pilgrimage.

The government is expected to issue additional guidelines on Hajj registration and related procedures ahead of the 2027 pilgrimage.
