Gold prices have been reduced once again in Bangladesh's domestic market, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) cutting the price of 22-carat gold by Tk3,324 per bhori.

Under the latest revision, the price of 22-carat gold now stands at Tk221,966 per bhori, including VAT. The new rates took effect from 10:00am today.

BAJUS said the decision was made at a meeting of its Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring following a decline in the price of pure (tejabi) gold in the local market.

A notification signed by the committee's chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen, confirmed the revised prices.

The latest reduction comes just a day after BAJUS lowered the price of 22-carat gold by Tk3,266 per bhori on 29 June, bringing the total decline to Tk6,590 per bhori in just 24 hours.

Today's gold prices in Bangladesh:

  • 22-carat gold: Tk221,966 per bhori (down Tk3,324)

  • 21-carat gold: Tk211,993 per bhori (down Tk3,149)

  • 18-carat gold: Tk182,075 per bhori (down Tk2,683)

BAJUS said the revised rates reflect the latest changes in domestic prices of raw gold and will remain in effect until further notice.
