Pakistan has selected Dubai as the neutral venue for next year’s Champions Trophy after India declined to travel to Pakistan for the tournament, officials confirmed on Sunday. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced earlier that all matches involving India in the eight-team event would be played outside Pakistan. Under the same agreement, Pakistan will compete at neutral venues in any ICC event hosted by India until 2027, following a month-long standoff between the two rivals.

“Pakistan has chosen Dubai as the neutral venue for the Champions Trophy and officially informed the ICC, meaning India will play its matches there,” a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson stated.

The Champions Trophy, scheduled from February 19 to March 9, 2025, will also feature Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. The ICC is expected to release the final tournament schedule next week.

India suspended bilateral cricket ties with Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai attacks, which were attributed to militants based in Pakistan. Currently, the two teams only face off in multinational events like the World Cup and Asia Cup.
