BNP suggests changes for the restructuring of public administration
The BNP also emphasized the importance of identifying and taking action against officials who may have abused their positions under previous administrations.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has presented a series of proposals aimed at overhauling the country’s public administration, advocating for a thorough restructuring to improve efficiency and impartiality within the system.
A delegation led by Ismail Jabirullah, a member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council and the party's Public Administration Reform Committee, submitted the proposals to Dr. Mokhlesur Rahman, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, on Sunday.
Jabirullah emphasized the need for a complete revamp of the administrative structure, proposing changes at all levels of administration three months before every election. This includes revising the process for forming the Deputy Commissioner (DC) fit list.
He also pointed out the problems caused by employees staying in the same positions for extended periods, leading to the formation of syndicates, and recommended mandatory transfers in such cases.
Additionally, the BNP stressed the importance of identifying and holding accountable officials who may have misused their positions under previous governments, ensuring a fair and neutral administration in the future.
