Donald Trump said on Thursday that the United States and Iran are “very close” to reaching a peace agreement and that he may travel to Pakistan to sign the deal.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said Tehran had agreed to hand over its stockpile of enriched uranium, as both sides consider further negotiations in Islamabad.

“We’re very close to making a deal with Iran,” he said before boarding a helicopter for a trip to Las Vegas.

He added that ensuring Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon remains a key objective, noting that Tehran has “agreed to almost everything,” though some differences remain.

When asked about the possibility of signing the deal in Pakistan, Trump said he could attend the ceremony. “I might go, yeah. If the deal is signed in Islamabad, I might go.”

The US leader also praised Shehbaz Sharif and army chief Asim Munir for their role in facilitating talks with Iran.
