Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus urged foreign guests attending the 'Bay of Bengal Conversation' to experience the graffiti and paintings created by young revolutionaries, which express their emotions and aspirations.

He made this appeal during his speech at the inaugural session of the 3rd edition of the 'Bay of Bengal Conversation', organized by the Centre for Governance Studies (CGS) at a city hotel on Saturday morning.

This year’s conference, titled "A Fractured World," brings together over 200 speakers, 300 delegates, and an audience of 800 participants from more than 80 countries worldwide.

Professor Yunus said, "To our foreign guests, I urge you not to miss the historical opportunity to walk through the streets of Dhaka and witness the walls painted with vibrant artworks that reflect the emotions and aspirations of young people, created during a pause between the violent clashes."

"Anyone who views them cannot help but be struck by the powerful expressions of the youth, created in the very places where violence once reigned," he added.

“It is truly a pleasure to be with you today in a city that has witnessed a remarkable political upheaval just a hundred days ago,” he continued.

Reflecting on the student-led revolution that brought down a fascist regime that had ruled the country for 16 years, Prof. Yunus welcomed the international guests to what he called the "New Bangladesh," highlighting the nation's desire to distance itself from the past.

He recalled that just 100 days ago, nearly 1,500 students, workers, and other protesters were killed by the previous regime, and around 20,000 were wounded.

"Through this international gathering, let us honor those who sacrificed their lives, those who lost their limbs and eyesight, and those still battling the physical and emotional scars of that struggle," the Chief Adviser concluded.
